Here's why I think you should consider coming to the PFA AGM tonight at 7pm ...!
Tonight is our way of saying 'thank you' to the school community of Holy Cross... and we want to say it with pizza for everyone!
There are lots of people ( and you all know who you are) who have made a real and tangible contribution to all of the various activities and events that have happened at school over this 2017 year... and it's really important to understand that so much of this stuff just simply cannot happen without you.
Here's just a few of the ways that you have supported your child's school, and your child's education this past year:-
* you have helped at the Mother's Day & Father's Day stalls * you have co-ordinated events (Simone Taylor) such as the Easter Raffle, and the stalls (Kathryn Caputa) * you have spruiked / sold / purchased raffle tickets * you have donated items * you have decorated the MPR * you have organised and supervised the disco (Louise Fall and others... I'm sorry I don't know you all personally, but you know who you are!)
All of these events require volunteers who very generously give of their time, energy, ideas, expertise and enthusiasm... and we want to say a very heartfelt THANK YOU!
As a parent of secondary age children (as well as a Gr 4 child), I am very aware of just how quickly time flies... once my kids started secondary college, the opportunities for me to be actively involved in their school activities quite drastically reduced. And it's a bit of a shock to realise that, as the kids get older, they just don't need me (or want me) to be as involved / invested in their school any more.
So, for me, the opportunity to be able to make a signficant contribution to my youngest son's school (ie: Holy Cross) has been such a blessing.
Being involved with PFA is a wonderful way to connect with the school, teachers and also with other parents... it's a fantastic way to maintain those connections, and for me, it has also been a brilliant way to share my energy and enthuisasm with others.
So, here's the thing... if I could personally invite you all to come along tonight, I would! But, it's not physically possible for me to do that.. so I am using the power of technology and social media to extend a very warm invitiation to you all, and really hope that you might feel just a little bit inspired to perhaps 'step out of your comfort zone' and join in with the PFA tonight.
